WHEREAS, the city of Cupertino wishes to recognize Dr. Brian Murphy on the occasion of his inauguration as president of De Anza College on Wednesday, November Seventeenth, Two-Thousand
and Four; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Brian Murphy has worked for more than three decades in the service of California higher education; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Brian Murphy brings a unique combination of personal and professional skills to his position including teacher, administrator and community leader; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Brian Murphy continues a great tradition at De Anza College, as a visionary educator creating outstanding and innovative programs and services, and upholding local excellence
in education and opportunity.
NOW, therefore, I, Mayor Sandra James, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby recognize
Dr. Brian Murphy
for his commitment to the ideals of education and for the great promise of his leadership of the community and city of Cupertino’s preeminent educational institution.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Seventeenth day of November, Two-Thousand and Four.
