HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Beez Jones Proclamation - Word - 03.04.2004PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to honor Beez Glendenning Jones, on the occasion of a reception and dedication in her honor, at the 115-year-old Glendenning barn on Friday, March 5th, 2004; and, WHEREAS, the Cupertino Historical Society and Museum in partnership with Hewlett Packard honors Beez Glendenning Jones and her ancestors by mounting a historic plaque on the family barn located on the HP campus in Cupertino; and, WHEREAS, the great granddaughter of Robert Glendenning and his wife, Margaret Howie Glendenning, who arrived in Cupertino from Scotland in 1850, Beez Glendenning Jones has continued her family’s tradition of community leadership; and, WHEREAS, Beez Glendenning Jones has volunteered tirelessly in her community and provided leadership to many community organizations including, the board of the Cupertino Historical Society, the YMCA, and other organizations, and is a key contributor to every Cupertino community forum. NOW, therefore, I, Mayor Sandra James, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby recognize Beez Glendenning Jones in recognition of her exemplary and remarkable commitment to the people, families and community of Cupertino. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this 5th day of March 2004. ________________________ Sandra James, Mayor
