WHEREAS, Vallco Fashion Park is a prominent part of the community; and
WHEREAS, the administrative and security staff of Vallco Fashion Park participate in Community Emergency Response Team training to ensure their coordination with the City's disaster
response program; and
WHEREAS, Vallco Fashion Park has provided classroom space for the City Office of Emergency Services training sessions since 2001; and
WHEREAS, in January 2003, Vallco Fashion Park donated a storefront to the Office of Emergency Services so that ongoing training and public education could be conducted from a permanent
training center; and
WHEREAS, because of their community involvement and foresight, the City already had in place a disaster education resource and training center that was immediately available for the
increase in disaster preparedness interest after Hurricane Katrina.
NOW, therefore, the mayor of Cupertino and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby recognize and commend,
Vallco Fashion Park
for its community involvement and partnership with the Cupertino Office of Emergency Services and their commitment to being a resource and active participant in the emergency planning
and preparedness process of the city of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Third day of January 2006.
