HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Puder Proclamation - Word - 01.18.2007PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Daniel Puder of Cupertino, is the Champion of the Wrestling Entertainment's $1 million "Tough Enough" competition. Puder has gone against all the odds and has dominated every athletic challenge in the Tough Enough competition for its duration; and WHEREAS, Puder was a star wrestler at Cupertino's Monta Vista High School. He won the Central Coast Section wrestling championship in 2000, and went on to wrestle at Menlo College; and WHEREAS, while still in high school, Puder began training at the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose under Frank Shamrock, and has also trained with such luminaries as former World kickboxing champion Javier Mendez, famous MMA trainer Bob Cook and multi-time national champion wrestler Danny Chaid; and WHEREAS, Puder won tough enough against seven other men, including one Indoor Football League player, a few former college football players and others. He hopes to be a positive influence in youth today and in the future. He will be holding seminars teaching young athletes proper weight training and conditioning. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Patrick Kwok, and the entire Cupertino City Council, do hereby honor and commend Daniel Puder for his enthusiasm and commitment and determination to provide a positive example for the youth, community and city of Cupertino.
