HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Oberhofer Proclamation - Word - 09.06.2005PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on Tuesday, September Six, Two Thousand and Five, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Jim Oberhofer, for his outstanding contributions to the safety of our children, families and community; and WHEREAS, Jim has displayed outstanding leadership in the field of emergency communications preparedness and response; and WHEREAS, while working fulltime, Jim has been a City of Cupertino volunteer for seven years and is the Emergency Coordinator for the 75 member Cupertino Amateur Radio Emergency Service (CARES) organization; and WHEREAS, Jim has constantly improved the City’s amateur radio response capability by improving operation procedures, conducting frequent training with neighboring jurisdictions and regular meetings with stakeholders; and WHEREAS, Jim contributes hundreds of hours of volunteer service to the City of Cupertino Service Center, Office of Emergency Services and Cupertino Amateur Radio Emergency Service; and WHEREAS, because of Jim’s continued innovation and and commitment he has been recognized with its Silver Award by the California Emergency Services Association (CESA) Costal Chapter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Mayor Patrick Kwok, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby commend and recognize Jim Oberhofer for his dedication and remarkable contributions to the community as demonstrated by his tireless work to keep the city “one step ahead.” IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, September Six, Two Thousand and Five. ________________________ Patrick S.
