HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 McCormack Proclamation - Word - 02.16.2005PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on Sunday, February 13, 2005, Santa Clara County Fire Department Captain Mark McCormack died while responding to a fire; and WHEREAS, the men and women of the Santa Clara County Fire Department have provided a vital service to Cupertino since the city was first incorporated in 1955; and WHEREAS, prior to his promotion to captain, Mark McCormack had faithfully served the people of Cupertino at the Sevens Springs Fire Station in Cupertino; and WHEREAS, in the finest tradition of firefighters throughout our nation, our community and our fire department, Mark McCormack has met the highest standard of self-sacrifice, courage and duty as any community may be privileged to know. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Patrick Kwok, and the Cupertino City Council hereby humbly honor and commend Captain Mark McCormack in recognition of the honor and sacrifice with which he, and all men and women of the Santa Clara County Fire Department have served Cupertino, and in recognition of the sacred trust and profound gratitude of our entire community. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Fifteenth day of February, Two-thousand and Five. ________________________ Patrick S.
