WHEREAS, on Sunday, February 20, 2005, the city of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Healthy Cooking Contest of the World Journal; and
WHEREAS, the World Journal has become a major source of information and an important community partner in the city of Cupertino where Chinese-Americans comprise one-quarter of the population;
and
WHEREAS, this is the second year that the World Journal has held this cooking contest for amateur chefs from throughout the Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, in the finest tradition of fine dining, this event will be held at one of Cupertino’s finest restaurants, the Dynasty Chinese Seafood Restaurant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Patrick Kwok, and the Cupertino City Council hereby recognize the 2005
Healthy Cooking Contest of the World Journal
and its continued work empowering its readers and the community at large, making us a better community, city and people.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Twentieth day of February, Two-thousand and Five.
