WHEREAS, on February 15, 2005, the Asian American Business Council of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce will hold its Lunar New Year Luncheon; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Asian American Business Council is to promote, strengthen and enhance the inter-ethnic environment in the Cupertino business community; and
WHEREAS, the Asian American Business Council has been an important catalyst for promoting and recognizing individuals who have contributed to cultural understanding in Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Wong has served two years as co-chair and chair of the Asian American Business Council, and has contributed significantly to many of the organization’s accomplishments
including the annual Lunar New Year Luncheon, Moon Festival Luncheon and Diwali Festival.
NOW, therefore, I, Mayor Patrick Kwok, and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby recognize
Gilbert Wong
in recognition of his work to promote economic vitality, cultural, international, and community understanding both as Chair and as Co-Chair of the Asian American Business Council.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Fifteenth day of February, Two-thousand and Five.
