WHEREAS, Self-Help for the Elderly began serving seniors in San Francisco' s chinatown community in 1966; and
WHEREAS, today, Self-help for the Elderly serves over 25,000 seniors each year in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties; and
WHEREAS, over 90% of our clients are low income and from minority communities; and
WHEREAS, Self-Help for the Elderly are dedicated to improving the quality of life for elder adults through a comprehensive range of multicultural and multilingual services designed to
promote the independence, dignity and self-worth of seniors.
NOW, THEREFORE, as mayor of Cupertino, I do hereby recognize
Self-Help for the Elderly
for its outstanding staff under whose attentive care, seniors gain access to programs and services that enhance their standard of living and help them to achieve the best possible health.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Fifteenth day of October, Two-Thousand and Five.
