WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the diligence
and outstanding contributions of the Moon Festival of Silicon Valley, on
the occasion of the sixth annual Moon Festival held at the city of
Cupertino Memorial Park, an important annual event celebrated in
Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, many volunteers have tirelessly participated in the life of
our community and in cultural events, especially the Moon Festival, to
promote an understanding of Chinese culture and heritage; and
WHEREAS, the city recognizes and supports festival's contributions to
our community and the significance of the Moon Festival and the
community efforts to preserve the history and traditions associated
with this holiday.
NOW, therefore, the City Council and Mayor of Cupertino, do hereby
acknowledge the
Moon Festival of Silicon Valley
in recognition of its outstanding contributions helping to recognize the
wealth of our cultural heritage, and for promoting cultural,
international and community understanding.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the
seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Thirtieth day of
September, Two -Thousand and Six.
