WHEREAS, Laura Domondon Lee, Community Outreach Coordinator for the city of Cupertino, has been central to the success and growth of the city of Cupertino’s Block Leader Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Managers Department of the League of California Cities established its Committee on Diverse Communities, through which the league recognizes city managers and their
assistants who have been most successful in promoting the advancement of diversity within the community and workplace through the development and implementation of effective programs;
and
WHEREAS, the League of California Cities gave its Award for the Advancement of Diverse Communities for 2006 to David Knapp in recognition of Cupertino’s outstanding Block Leader Program;
and
WHEREAS, since its inception four years ago, participation in the program has experienced six-fold growth in membership. Laura has consistently promoted the program and well represented
the highest standards of service of our city and our community.
NOW, therefore, the mayor and city council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize
Laura D. Lee
on the occasion of the city of Cupertino winning the 2006 Award for the Advancement of Diverse Communities in recognition of her efforts and her program, and for her invaluable and essential
support of local government and the community.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Twenty-First day of March 2006.
