WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Financial Planning Association, on the occasion of National Financial Planning Week, beginning on October 2; and,
WHEREAS, the Financial Planning Association is an international organization with 29,000 members that has promoted financial literacy and the value of financial planning; and,
WHEREAS, the Financial Planning Association has worked with various organizations, including the Red Cross, to provide financial literacy training to citizens who have previously not
had access to such training; and,
WHEREAS, during this week members of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Financial Planning Association will host public events that will assist citizens’ understanding of financial literacy.
NOW, therefore, the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino do hereby proclaim the week of October 2, 2006, as
Financial Planning Week
in Cupertino, in order to encourage and promote the valuable understanding of financial literacy.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Second day of October, Two-Thousand and Six.
