WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino and the Rotary Club of Cupertino, Cupertino, California, USA, Congratulates and welcomes the New Rotary Club of Beijing, Peoples Republic of China on its
Charter on May 21, 2006; and
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Beijing will pave the way for a growing Rotary presence in China based on service and goodwill within and among all nations; and
WHEREAS, Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build
goodwill and friendships and peace in the world; and
WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Beijing joins 1.2 million Rotarians around the world, 32,000 Clubs in now 169 Countries.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the
Rotary Club of Beijing
and the relationships and humanitarian projects that will be further strengthened by the ongoing relationship between the Rotary Club of Beijing and the Rotary Club of Cupertino through
their joint second Rotary Project that includes the Shin Shin Educational Foundation. These projects and relationships will help to foster the bond between the citizens of Cupertino,
California, USA, and Beijing, PRC.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Fifth day of May, Two-Thousand and Six.
