Whereas, WHEREAS, Beez Jones, at 81 years old, has been an active member and volunteer with the Northwest YMCA since 1978, and;
WHEREAS, Beez has been Chair of the Volunteer Committee, served on the Board of Managers since 1978, and is an active campaigner, and;
WHEREAS, Beez attends board meetings and campaign functions regularly, and Beez has donated above the triangle level for many years, and;
WHEREAS, Beez always has a story to share about the history of the YMCA and what has been going on in the community, where she served on the Historical Heritage Commission and the Cupertino
General Plan Task Force, and;
WHEREAS, while Beez is always excited to attend a campaign event or just come to the branch to work out, her goal this June is to walk up 100+ steps to the aircraft carrier where her
son is being commissioned as a Captain in the Navy.
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved by the city council that the City of Cupertino takes great pleasure in recognizing
Beez Jones
as Adult Volunteer of the Year at the Northwest YMCA, and in acknowledging, with great pride, her positive impact on the community.
In Witness Thereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, March Sixth, Two Thousand and Seven.
