WHEREAS, on Saturday, October Twenty-Seventh, Two Thousand and Seven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Make A Difference Day; and
WHEREAS, more than three million Americans will be volunteering in their communities on Make A Difference Day; and
WHEREAS, each year USA WEEKEND Magazine and the Points of Light & Hands on Network issue a national call to action, challenging Americans to spend one Saturday “making a difference”
in their communities and in the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, Make A Difference Day is now the largest day of volunteer action in the United States.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize
Make A Difference Day
a day where people can reach out to their neighbors and work to make a difference.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, October Twenty-Seventh, Two Thousand and Seven.
