WHEREAS, on Thursday, October Eighteenth, Two Thousand and Seven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Judy Catherine Miner who will be installed as the sixth president of Foothill
College; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Miner honed her leadership skills in both instructional and student support services at De Anza College for more than eighteen years, serving as vice president of instruction;
provost of arts, letters and social sciences; dean of academic services and matriculation; and dean of matriculation; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Miner has earned a doctorate degree in educational organization and leadership from the University of San Francisco; a master’s degree in history from Lone Mountain College;
and a bachelor’s degree in history and French from Lone Mountain College; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Miner has chosen “Excellence Through Inclusion” as the overarching vision for her presidency, pledging to build upon an already stellar institution and take it to a new
level of accomplishment and distinction.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Judy Catherine Miner
upon her attainment of the presidency of Foothill College and wish her every success in her presidential endeavors throughout her term of office.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Thursday, October Eighteenth, Two Thousand and Seven.
