WHEREAS, Jonathan Wu has been an active leader at Monta Vista High School including such activities as president and founder of Science Alliance, president Amnesty International, president
of Junior Statesmen, captain of the Congressional Debate Team, vice president of the National Honor Society, editor of the Literary Magazine, editor of World Events at the Stampede
Newspaper, activities director of the Health Club, events coordinator of the Sole Purpose Charity, and test sales coordinator for Monta Vista High School Bookkeeping; and
WHEREAS, Jonathan Wu has received numerous awards and scholarships including, Frank H. Buck Scholarship Winner, Coca-Cola Scholarship National Winner, Prudential Financial Spirit of
the Community National Finalist, Bank of America Academic Achievement, National Honor Society Scholarship Winner; and
WHEREAS, Jonathan Wu is an excellent student and is recognized as a National AP Scholar, and has subsequently been admitted into Yale.
NOW, THEREFORE, as mayor of Cupertino, I do hereby recognize
Jonathan Wu
and urge all Cupertino residents to celebrate and acknowledge his accomplishments and bright future with appropriate festivities and recognition.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this 24th day of April 2007.
