WHEREAS, on Tuesday, September Eighteenth, Two Thousand and Seven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Cupertino Kiwanis Club for more than twenty years of volunteer service;
and
WHEREAS, the Cupertino Kiwanis Club sponsor many youth groups from Boy Scouts to youth camps including one in Stevens Canyon that provides opportunities for physically challenged children;
and
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club sponsor the Monta Vista High School and Cupertino High School Key Clubs and provide scholarships; and
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club donated the flagpole located in Memorial Park; and
WHEREAS, every year they help the Cupertino Senior Center prepare for their Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize the
Cupertino Kiwanis Club
for their excellent work in improving the quality of life for people, families and City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, September Eighteenth, Two Thousand and Seven.
