WHEREAS, on Tuesday, October Second, Two Thousand and Seven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize California Arts Day as a day to increase awareness and participation in the arts;
and
WHEREAS, the California Arts Council created California Arts Day to help the public understand and appreciate the positive impact arts has in culture, economics, and intellectual life;
and
WHEREAS, California Arts Day can help with building communities, bridging cultures and celebrating diversity.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize, the first Friday in October, in conjunction with the National Arts and Humanities celebration,
as
Cupertino Arts Day
a day that demonstrates the role and value of arts and culture throughout our city.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, October Second, Two Thousand and Seven.
