WHEREAS, on Tuesday, October Second, Two Thousand and Seven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Caron Blinick for her outstanding contributions to the renovation of the De Anza
College Planetarium; and
WHEREAS, the De Anza College Planetarium is currently the most advanced in the western United States; and
WHEREAS, Caron Blinick has been with De Anza College for the past twenty-seven years and has been Dean of Community Education since 1989; and
WHEREAS, in the late 1990’s Caron visualized a renovated planetarium and in 2000 went to Japan to establish relationships with key vendors, especially Minolta in Toyokawa; and
WHEREAS, Caron was instrumental in securing funding from a variety of sources including federal appropriations, state capital outlay grants, individual donations and bond measure funding.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Caron Blinick
for her efforts and contributions and the role she has played in helping create a place where people can be entertained and enjoy learning.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, October Second, Two Thousand and Seven.
