WHEREAS, on Saturday, September Twenty-Second, Two Thousand and Seven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the American Chinese National Day Celebration; and
WHEREAS, the celebration will be held by the Silicon Valley Chinese National Day Celebration Committee and the US Chinese Women Cultural Organization; and
WHEREAS, it is crucial to generate interest and appreciation of the American Chinese culture; and
WHEREAS, preserving the cultural heritage of Chinese Americans is important.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the
American Chinese National Day Celebration
a day that will bring together families and friends and a day to celebrate the history, culture, and traditions of Chinese Americans.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, September Twenty-Second, Two Thousand and Seven.
