WHEREAS, on Tuesday, October Seventh, Two Thousand and Eight, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Terry Van Fossen; and
WHEREAS, Mike Harrison had an apparent heart attack at the Sports Center on August Second, Two Thousand Eight, at 2:20 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Terry Van Fossen performed Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on Mr. Harrison and used the Sports Center’s automated external defibrillator (AED), which restarted his heart;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Harrison had a Triple bypass and is looking forward to playing tennis at the Cupertino Sports Center in the next few months; and
WHEREAS, an AED was just purchased for Community Hall, which means that we now have AEDs in all City facilities.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Terry Van Fossen
for her outstanding willingness to come to the aid of another and her readiness to respond by being trained in CPR.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, October Seventh, Two Thousand and Eight.
