WHEREAS, on Sunday, May Fourth, Two Thousand and Eight, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter during their 75th year anniversary; and
WHEREAS, their founding principles are to preserve, protect, and enhance the environment; and
WHEREAS, Sierra Club makes the outdoors more enjoyable for all of us; and
WHEREAS, their more recent programs include endorsement of smart growth policies, habitat conservation plans, forest protection, developing green building guidelines and starting the
COOL Cities program; and
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter
for their outstanding work, dedication, and building a better community for the people of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Sunday, May Fourth, Two Thousand and Eight.
