WHEREAS, on Tuesday, May Twentieth, Two Thousand and Eight, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Michele Lew; and
WHEREAS, Michele Lew has been named 2008 Woman of the Year for the 22nd District of the California State Assembly, and it is fitting at this time that special public attention be drawn
to her many achievements in service to her fellow Californians; and
WHEREAS, Michele Lew is a respected role model to her peers, friends and colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Michele Lew serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), energetically advocating for dignity and respect for all members
of our community in the fields of healthcare and education; and
WHEREAS, Michele Lew is a Cupertino resident and currently serves on the board of the Community Health Partnership, the advisory board for Foundation for a College Education, and the
Santa Clara County Social Services Advisory Commission.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Michele Lew
for her outstanding work, dedication, and creating a stronger community for the people of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, May Twentieth, Two Thousand and Eight.
