WHEREAS, on Thursday, January Twenty-Fourth, Two Thousand and Eight, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Gilbert Wong; and
WHEREAS, The Asian American Business Council awarded Gilbert Wong the Bridge Award as an important catalyst for promoting and advocating cultural understanding and diversity in Cupertino
and the business community; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Wong has utilized his talent and skill for over ten years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Organization of Chinese American, Silicon Valley, and during that
time, he provided direction for two one-year terms as President; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Wong is known throughout the area as an innovator and consensus builder, who has worked tirelessly on numerous projects on behalf of the FUHSD; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Wong served over five years on the Cupertino Planning Commission, where he distinguished himself as both Vice Chair and Chair and was elected on November 6, 2007 to
serve on the Cupertino City Council.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Gilbert Wong
for his lifetime of achievements and his commitment to improving the quality of life for future generations.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Thursday, January Twenty-Fourth, Two Thousand and Eight.
