WHEREAS, on Thursday, August Twenty-Eighth, Two Thousand and Eight, Vice Mayor Orrin Mahoney wishes to recognize past district governor Dick Lohmiller; and
WHEREAS, Dick has officially resided in the city of Cupertino for forty long years during which time he has amassed a significant record of community service, including his instrumental
role in the development and completion of Vista Village for Cupertino Community Services; and
WHEREAS, Dick played a vital role in the 2007-2008 Cupertino Rotary year, by not being around, due to his district governor obligations; and
WHEREAS, the city of Cupertino acknowledges the critical rebound of tax revenue both in food and beer sales immediately following Dick’s 75-day Olympic training regimen.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved that I, Vice Mayor Orrin Mahoney, do hereby declare Thursday, August Twenty-Eighth, Roast and Toast
Dick Lohmiller Day
in Cupertino. Surrounded by friends, family, and Rotary fellowship, we commend our dear friend who has provided so much insight and “wisdom” to all who have served with him.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, we hereby acknowledge Dick’s profound idiosyncrasies, which are only surpassed by his even greater contributions to our community.
