WHEREAS, on Saturday, April Twenty-Sixth, Two Thousand and Eight, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the 25th annual Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival; and
WHEREAS, Cupertino is proud of its affiliation and partnership with Japan through our thirty year sister city relationship with Toyokawa and celebrate this bond each year with the Cherry
Blossom Festival; and
WHEREAS, the festival will be held at Memorial Park and offers a wide selection of Japanese food and beverages, entertainment, demonstrations, cultural exhibits, art, crafts and clothing
for sale; and
WHEREAS, this two-day cultural event promotes an understanding of Japanese culture and heritage; and
WHEREAS, the festival benefits the nonprofit Cupertino Sister City Committee, which promotes friendship and student exchange programs between the two cities.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the
Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival
a festival that has educated and enriched the people, community and City of Cupertino for the past twenty-five years.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, April Twenty-Sixth, Two Thousand and Eight.
