A RESOLUTION OF THE CUPERTINO CITY COUNCIL RECOGNIZING
CITY ATTORNEY CHARLES KILIAN’S YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, December Second, Two Thousand and Eight, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize retiring City Attorney Charles Kilian; and
WHEREAS, Charles Kilian is being recognized by the City Council of the City of Cupertino on the occasion of his retirement from the position of City Attorney for the City of Cupertino;
and
WHEREAS, Charles Kilian has served the City of Cupertino for thirty-eight years providing legal counsel and sage advice to City Council members and unparalleled service to the taxpayers
and residents of the City of Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, Charles Kilian has served the community, not only with the city and his thorough knowledge of land-use law, he has also served as attorney for the West Valley Sanitation District,
taught law, and served as a juvenile court judge; and
WHEREAS, Charles Kilian’s knowledge of the law has only been exceeded by the range of circumstances in which he participated in its application. During the thirty-eight years of Charles’
work with the City of Cupertino, the community more than doubled in population; and
WHEREAS, Charles Kilian has consistently demonstrated excellent judgment not only with matters of the law, but also with matters of life for which he has shown a distinguished perception
of nuance and quality for all things epicurean.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby acknowledge and honor
Charles Kilian
for service and counsel that have served to establish and maintain the highest standards of public service that have become synonymous with Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, December Second, Two Thousand and Eight.
