WHEREAS, on Sunday, June Twenty-Eighth, Two Thousand and Nine, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the 25th annual Taiwanese and Chinese American Athletic Tournament (TCAAT); and
WHEREAS, the tournament is truly an outstanding community event, with thousands competing in a variety of sports—track and field, swimming, tennis, softball, volleyball, basketball,
soccer and more; and
WHEREAS, their ongoing success in bringing together all of these participants, along with obtaining the many sponsors for this event, is certainly a remarkable achievement; and
WHEREAS, TCAAT has consistently provided opportunities for the growing Taiwanese and Chinese American population to unite through athleticism; and
WHEREAS, the tournament fosters teamwork and volunteerism and also raises awareness of Taiwanese and Chinese culture.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the
25th Taiwanese & Chinese American Athletic Tournament
and offer our most hearty congratulations for their efforts in organizing and hosting this wonderful event.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Sunday, June Twenty-Eighth, Two Thousand and Nine.
