WHEREAS, on Monday, November Twenty-Third, Two Thousand and Nine, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize National Family Caregivers Month in Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, one of the most profound ways in which love is expressed is through the generous support provided by family caregivers to loved ones who are chronically ill, elderly or disabled;
and
WHEREAS, caregivers reflect family and community life at its best and are among Cupertino’s most important natural resources; and
WHEREAS, the need for family caregivers is growing, because people are living longer due to the help of medicine and technology.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize November, Two Thousand Nine as
National Family Caregivers Month
in Cupertino and honor the many contributions that family caregivers make to the quality of our life and urge people, businesses, and other organizations to offer programs and services
that will provide caregivers the support and encouragement they need to carry out their vital responsibilities.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Monday, November Twenty-Third, Two Thousand and Nine.
