WHEREAS, on Sunday, December Thirteenth, Two Thousand and Nine the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize McDonald’s USA; and
WHEREAS, McDonald’s is the exclusive sponsor of the event; and
WHEREAS, the event is hosted by World Journal, World Journal Culture Foundation, and Association of Northern California Chinese Schools; and
WHEREAS, the event will take place in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the Short Essay and Photo Contest is primarily aimed towards parents and kids, especially those from Chinese Schools; and
WHEREAS, as first generation immigrants, the parents are working so hard to make sure their family and kids are in a safe and comfortable environment; and
WHEREAS, parents don't have the spare time to bring their children out and spend quality time with them.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
McDonald’s USA
for their hard work, dedication, and for creating a better community for the children, the families and the people of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Sunday, December Thirteenth, Two Thousand and Nine.
