HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Mary Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Proclamation - Word - 11.30.2009PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on Monday, November Thirtieth, Two Thousand and Nine the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Mary Avenue Pedestrian Bridge; and WHEREAS, the Mary Avenue Pedestrian Bridge has received many awards, such as the League of California Cities – Public Works Infrastructure & Transportation – 2009; and WHEREAS, it also received the American Society of Civil Engineers, San Francisco Section – 2009 Outstanding Bridge Project of the Year; and WHEREAS, it was also awarded the Construction Management Association of America – National Project Achievement Award – Infrastructure Project with Constructed Value Less Than $15 Million; and WHEREAS, the Mary Avenue Pedestrian Bridge also received the McGraw-Hill, California Construction – Transportation/Facilities – Award of Merit, 2009; and WHEREAS, the bridge also received the McGraw-Hill, California Construction – Outstanding Engineering Design, 2009. NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the Mary Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and thank those who worked extremely hard to make the bridge the beautiful, unique architecture it is today.
