WHEREAS, on Wednesday, March Eleventh, Two Thousand and Nine, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Euphrat Museum of Art at De Anza College; and
WHEREAS, the Euphrat Museum of Art is opening its doors to a brand new exhibition space connected to the vibrant Visual and Performing Arts
Center at De Anza College; and
WHEREAS, the move will be celebrated with an inaugural exhibition, Looking Back, Looking Ahead, and related programs, bringing to light the stories of Silicon Valley's artists, residents
and groups; and
WHEREAS, the Euphrat Museum of Art serves a culturally diverse, technologically sophisticated, urban community undergoing rapid economic and social changes; and
WHEREAS, this inaugural exhibition honors the past and looks to the future as it weaves together the stories of artists and the stories of Silicon Valley residents and groups in an effort
to understand the fascinating community that we are situated in.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize
Euphrat Museum of Art
for their outstanding work, dedication, and creating a stronger community for the people of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Wednesday, March Eleventh, Two Thousand and Nine.
