HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 2009 Sichuan Hope Envoy Delegates Proclamation - Word - 12.09.2009PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on Monday, November Thirtieth, Two Thousand and Nine, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Bolin Xu; and WHEREAS, Bolin Xu is one of the 2009 Sichuan Hope Envoy Delegates who assisted the survivors in the Sichuan earthquake zone; and WHEREAS, the delegation’s mission is to channel the energy and enthusiasm of our youth, tapping into the natural American willingness to help those in greater need; and WHEREAS, they use their talents and efforts to show they care and foster hope in children in the Sichuan earthquake zone, many of whom lost parents, friends, homes and schools, and encourage them through educational and recreational programs they develop for them. NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize Bolin Xu for the outstanding service he provides, and the important role he plays in creating a better community for the children, the families and the people of Cupertino. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Monday, November Thirtieth, Two Thousand and Nine. ________________________ Orrin Mahoney, Mayor PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on Monday, November Thirtieth, Two Thousand and Nine, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Kevin Guo; and WHEREAS, Kevin Guo is one of the 2009 Sichuan Hope Envoy Delegates who assisted the survivors in the Sichuan earthquake zone; and WHEREAS, the delegation’s mission is to channel the energy and enthusiasm of our youth, tapping into the natural American willingness to help those in greater need; and WHEREAS, they use their talents and efforts to show they care and foster hope in children in the Sichuan earthquake zone, many of whom lost parents, friends, homes and schools, and encourage them through educational and recreational programs they develop for them. NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize Kevin Guo for the outstanding service he provides, and the important role he plays in creating a better community for the children, the families and the people of Cupertino.
