WHEREAS, on Sunday, October Tenth, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of
Cupertino wishes to recognize Double Tenth; and
WHEREAS, Double Tenth is an important Chinese holiday where all freedom -loving
Chinese people throughout the world will celebrate the Ninety Ninth anniversary of
the founding of the Republic of China, the first democratic republic in Asia; and
WHEREAS, in Santa Clara County, the major festival will be participated by both
Chinese and non -Chinese Americans; and
WHEREAS, everyone will celebrate and promote understanding, friendship, and
appreciation of the culture, tradition, and contribution of Chinese Americans to our
society.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do
hereby recognize
Double Tenth
an event that celebrates a milestone in China's political development and new
chapter in the history of the Chinese people.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City
of Cupertino to be affixed this Sunday, October Tenth, Two Thousand and Ten.
