WHEREAS, the city of Cupertino has benefited from the friendship of the Honorable Thomas Chen and the important link he plays in the successful relations between the people of the United
States of America and the people of Taiwan; and
WHEREAS, his term as Director General of the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco has been a successful one and will undoubtedly continue with his leadership and perseverance;
and
WHEREAS, Thomas has played an integral role in strengthening the cultural, economic, educational, and governmental ties between America and Taiwan; and
NOW, therefore, I, Mayor Kris Wang and the Cupertino City Council, do hereby recognize the Honorable
Thomas Chen
for his dedication and exemplary work to secure a lasting friendship between the United States of America and Taiwan.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Twenty-Eighth day of August, Two-thousand and Ten.
