HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 The Voice of Harmony Artists-Frank Au-Yeung Proclamation - Word- 10.29.2010PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on Friday, October Twenty-Ninth, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Frank Au-Yeung; and WHEREAS, Frank Au-Yeung is the Chairman of the Board for The Voice of Harmony Artists (VOHA); and WHEREAS, VOHA was started by a group of distinguished artists and formed with many music enthusiasts in the San Francisco bay area; and WHEREAS, the goals of VOHA are to promote the Chinese culture, to communicate with the U.S. general public through art exchange, and to serve the community; and WHEREAS, VOHA activities include large-scale performances, overseas shows, development of the mainstream and ethnic performing platforms and participation in public and charity events; and WHEREAS, VOHA is also dedicated in serving the performers by providing opportunities and works as a bridge among different Chinese groups and strengthens the tie between the U.S. and Chinese societies; and  WHEREAS, their wonderful event, The ‘Yellow River Cantata’ concert, at the Vienna Golden Hall, will further promote the classic Chinese art work to the world. NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize Frank Au-Yeung for his outstanding work and dedication as the Chairman of the Board for VOHA and for creating a stronger and better community. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Friday, October Twenty-Ninth, Two Thousand and Ten. ________________________ Kris Wang, Mayor
