WHEREAS, on Thursday, October Seventh, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in San Francisco on the occasion of
their celebration of the 99th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan); and
WHEREAS, the Republic of China (Taiwan) was founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sun and this year marks the 99th anniversary of its foundation; and
WHEREAS, TECO represents Taiwan government’s interests in Northern California, Utah and Nevada and serves de facto functions of the Consulate General; and
WHEREAS, Taiwan and the United States have a firm and strong friendship and are close economic partners; and
WHEREAS, Taiwan is now the sixth largest trading partner for California.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO)
for their outstanding work, dedication, and hope that the friendship between Taiwan and California will become even stronger in every aspect.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Thursday, October Seventh, Two Thousand and Ten.
