WHEREAS, on Tuesday, July Twentieth, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Sujith Vishwajith; and
WHEREAS, on July Fourth, Two Thousand and Ten, the Santa Clara County Fire Seven Springs Station was dispatched to a reported drowning; and
WHEREAS, Sridhar Krishnamurthy, who does not know how to swim, had been in the shallow end of the pool and had somehow wandered into the deep end; and
WHEREAS, thirteen year old, Sujith Vishwajith, swam to him and helped lift him out of the pool; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Krishnamurthy was not breathing and Sujith’s father, Vishwajith Singh, began CPR immediately while Sujith was by his side holding the victim's neck and face; and
WHEREAS, when the Seven Springs Station assessed the patient, he was breathing on his own with a good pulse and was conscious but confused; and
WHEREAS, the outcome of that call could have been much different and a thirty-nine year old young man could have died, but Sujith helped save his neighbor's life that day.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Sujith Vishwajith
for his outstanding willingness to come to the aid of another and his readiness to respond.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, July Twentieth, Two Thousand and Ten.
