WHEREAS, on Thursday, July Twenty-Second, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Ralph Qualls, Jr.; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Qualls, Jr. is being recognized by the City Council of the City of Cupertino on the occasion of his retirement from the position of Public Works Director for the City
of Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, Ralph has served the City of Cupertino for ten years where he lead community projects such as the new Cupertino Library, Civic Center and Mary Avenue Bicycle Footbridge; and
WHEREAS, Ralph also oversaw the restoration of the Stevens Creek corridor, a renovation for Blackberry Farm and completion of Cali Mill Plaza; and
WHEREAS, Ralph has served the community, not only with the city, but also as Redevelopment Agency Director for San Jose and Public Works Director for San Jose; and
WHEREAS, Ralph has consistently demonstrated excellent judgment not only with matters of planning, development and design, but also with matters of life. Ralph has shown a distinguished
commitment to his work and its quality, which has been reflected in all his projects.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby acknowledge and honor
Ralph Qualls, Jr.
for service and counsel that have served to establish and maintain the highest standards of public service that have become synonymous with Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Thursday, July Twenty-Second, Two Thousand and Ten.
