WHEREAS, on Tuesday, April Sixth, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Pat Rogers; and
WHEREAS, Pat Rogers is a founding member of the Cupertino Library Foundation, served as a past president, and is now retiring after sixteen years; and
WHEREAS, Pat Rogers is also a member of Quota International of Cupertino as well as a past president; and
WHEREAS, Pat served in the Army in Korea and the U.S. for five years; and
WHEREAS, he later worked on the early Atlas program and helped develop the Saturn engines for NASA's Lunar Landing Program; and
WHEREAS, he also helped develop the Trident submarine program; and
WHEREAS, his expertise and knowledge in martial arts led to his teaching many self-defense classes for women; and
WHEREAS, Pat is a well-known author of books and magazine articles about military history and the development of weapons as well as "techno-thrillers."
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Pat Rogers
for his outstanding work, dedication, and for creating a stronger and better community for the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, April Sixth, Two Thousand and Ten.
