WHEREAS, on Tuesday, August Third, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Lynbrook High School mentors; and
WHEREAS, student mentors from Lynbrook High School and the Joaquin Miller Middle School Lego Robotics Club, the Cupertino Library and the Friends of the Cupertino Library collaborated
to offer a successful four day robotics mini-camp; and
WHEREAS, mentors Alric Siu, Lucy Mou, Aurea Siu, Clarence Mah, Albert Chang, Toshitha Jagadeesh, Alicia Siu and Emily Lo were excited to share their enthusiasm, skill and talent for
robotics with other students; and
WHEREAS, the student mentees Anish Parasrampuria, Adish Jain, Sujeeth Jinesh, Benedict Chua, Chaitanya Pedada, Obaid Chintamen, Nikitha Girish, Kamala Pillai, Iris Tsai
Kishen Saravanan, Karen Shi, Mia Bhatta, Pavan Gollapalli, Antonio Natar, Alyssa Zhang, Jennifer Deng, Daniel Lee, Nathan Harris, and Gayatri Dandu learned how to build and program Lego
Mindstorms NXT robots in four days; and
WHEREAS, the Cupertino Library coordinated, promoted and hosted the week-long robotics camp; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Cupertino Library generously sponsored the robotics mini-camp by underwriting the cost for all of the food and beverages served during the four day program;
and
WHEREAS, through their coordinated efforts, these individuals and organizations were able to demonstrate that robotics can excite young minds, spark a greater interest in science, math
and technology; and inspire students to pursue their goals and dreams.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize the
Lynbrook High School Mentors
and thank them for their collaborative and cooperative efforts to host a robotics mini-camp.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, August Third, Two Thousand and Ten.
