WHEREAS, on Friday, October First, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Grand Master Wei Chueh; and
WHEREAS, Grand Master Wei Chueh is founder of Chung Tai Chan Monastery and all its one hundred plus Zen centers throughout Taiwan and in the U.S.; and
WHEREAS, he will grace various U.S. branches with a visit from Taiwan this month; and
WHEREAS, in the Bay Area, the Grand Master will preside over the 10th anniversary celebration of Buddha Gate Monastery, o ffer Dharma talks, and conduct transmission of Three Refuges
and Five Precepts.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Grand Master Wei Chueh
for his outstanding work, dedication, and for creating a stronger and better community for the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Friday, October First, Two Thousand and Ten.
