WHEREAS, on Monday, November First, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the significant contributions of City Manager David Knapp; and
WHEREAS, David has served Cupertino with integrity and grace for ten years; and
WHEREAS, he helped create the Cupertino Block Leader Program in February Two Thousand and Two and, today, Cupertino has over three hundred and fifty block leaders; and
WHEREAS, he dedicates his time and service to making significant and positive changes, great and small, through his actions; and
WHEREAS, David promotes and encourages a sense of giving and service by all citizens that contributes toward an inclusive and diverse community; and
WHEREAS, David’s vision and leadership brought Cupertino the Civic Center, Library, Mary Avenue Bridge, Stevens Creek Trail and Blackberry Farm Park; and
WHEREAS, he consistently demonstrates excellent judgment not only with matters within the City, but also with matters of life for which he has shown a distinguished perception of nuance
and quality for all things; and
WHEREAS, David’s profound commitment to the core values of democracy have permeated both our organization and community; and
WHEREAS, under David’s leadership it is understood that in Cupertino, people are the government; in Cupertino, people accept responsibility for each other; and in Cupertino, people come
first.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby honor and recognize
David Knapp
for his service and counsel that serve to establish and maintain the highest standards of public service that have become synonymous with Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Monday, November First, Two Thousand and Ten.
