WHEREAS, on Tuesday, February Second, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Live Oak Adult Day Services’ (LOADS) Cupertino Center on the occasion of its 30th
Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Cupertino Senior Day Services (CSSDS) merged with Live Oak Adult Day Services (LOADS), on July First, Two Thousand Three; and
WHEREAS, LOADS Cupertino Center has provided daily respite for caregivers and activities for seniors with long-term illnesses; and
WHEREAS, LOADS Cupertino Center is a licensed not-for-profit Adult Day Care program for dependent seniors and provides a safe, positive caring alternative to nursing home care for those
who do not need 24-hour skilled nursing; and
WHEREAS, the program is designed to help at-risk seniors stay mentally and physically active, reduce isolation, improve their health and prevent premature decline of activities of daily
living; and
WHEREAS, daily activities and caring employees help diminish depression and alleviate caregiver burnout.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Live Oak Adult Day Services’ Cupertino Center
for its thirty years of excellent work in improving the quality of life for people, families and City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, February Second, Two Thousand and Ten.
