WHEREAS, on Saturday, February Twentieth, Two Thousand and Ten, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Chinese Institute of Engineers/USA- San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (CIE/USA-SF)
on the occasion of its 2010 Annual Conference; and
WHEREAS, CIE/USA is a non-profit, non-political organization serving the local engineering community; and
WHEREAS, founded in Nineteen Seventeen, CIE/USA is one of the oldest and the most prestigious Chinese-American engineering associations in the United States; and
WHEREAS, it has six chapters in the United States, including the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter; and
WHEREAS, CIE/USA also co-hosts three biannual engineering seminars in Taipei, Beijing, and Hong Kong; and
WHEREAS, the conference will be filled with activities and fun with a delightful gala banquet in the evening featuring a keynote speech, scholarship award, Technology and Humanity award,
and entertainment; and
WHEREAS, this year’s theme is “A Changing World: An Engineer’s Perspective”.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize the
Chinese Institute of Engineers/USA-San Francisco Bay Area Chapter
for its outstanding service, dedication, and for creating a stronger and better community for the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, February Twentieth, Two Thousand and Ten.
