WHEREAS, on Saturday, February Twelfth, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Taiwan Lantern Festival of 2011; and
WHEREAS, this event is organized by the South Bay Taiwanese American Association of Northern California, which was founded in Nineteen Seventy-One; and
WHEREAS, the focus of this wonderful event is to promote family reunion and unity by celebrating this long tradition and the ending of the 2011 Lunar Year; and
WHEREAS, there will be a lantern exhibition and a special dancing performance from Taiwan; and
WHEREAS, this event will bring an afternoon of joy and fun for all those who are attending.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the
Taiwan Lantern Festival of 2011
and thank the South Bay Taiwanese American Association of Northern California for this great event that the community will enjoy.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, February Twelfth, Two Thousand and Eleven.
