WHEREAS, on Saturday, January Twenty-Second, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Taiwanese American Federation of Northern California’s (TAFNC) 38th Annual
Lunar New Year Celebration; and
WHEREAS, this conference is the biggest annual gathering of the Taiwanese American community in Northern California; and
WHEREAS, they attract about one thousand Taiwanese Americans in the Bay Area every year; and
WHEREAS, there will be a keynote speech, Taiwanese folk songs, dances and traditional cultural entertainment; and
WHEREAS, TAFNC is a non-profit Taiwanese American organization which consists of eight Northern California chapters with over two thousand members; and
WHEREAS, the organization is the source of support for many people in our community.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the
38th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration
and thank TAFNC for doing an outstanding job in promoting friendship and cultural exchange between mainstream Americans and Taiwanese Americans.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, January Twenty-Second, Two Thousand and Eleven.
