WHEREAS, on Saturday, December Tenth, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Shin Shin Education Foundation on the occasion of their 2011 Fund raising Showcase;
and
WHEREAS, the Shin Shin Educational Foundation provides funds to help China build schools in remote poor rural areas to enable students to enjoy a better school environment, the completion
of the national basic education, and reduce the urban-rural educational gap
;and
WHEREAS, the Shin Shin Educational Foundation has participated in the construction and repair of 333 primary schools over the past 14 years; and
WHEREAS, the Shin Shin Educational Foundation has a strong connection to Cupertino with significant leadership and financial support from the management of the Acorn campus and a multi-year
partnership with the Rotary Club of Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, the current Councilmember and former Mayor of Cupertino has had the honor of participating in four trips to China and visited over twenty schools to witness the dedication of
the Shin Shin volunteers and to see the positive results of their efforts as seen on the faces of the children at these schools; and
NOW, therefore, the City of Cupertino wishes to commend Shin Shin Education Foundation for their outstanding work and to join in celebration of their 2011 Fund raising Showcase
Shin Shin Educational Foundation
and thank everyone for their hard work and dedication in putting together this wonderful event.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, December Tenth, Two Thousand and Eleven.
