WHEREAS, on Tuesday, June Seventh, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the formation of the Santa Clara Valley History Collaborative, whose mission is
to inform, excite and enlighten residents about local, state and national history; and
WHEREAS, the Cupertino Historical Society is one of the founding partners of the Santa Clara Valley History Collaborative and will furnish artifacts from its extensive collection for
the current and future exhibitions; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Library is another one of the founding partners of the Santa Clara Valley History Collaborative and will furnish books from its local, county and state
history collections for the current and future exhibitions; and
WHEREAS, the Cupertino Library Foundation is also one of the founding partners of the Santa Clara Valley History Collaborative and provided a generous donation to fund the construction
of a museum-quality display case for the current and future exhibitions; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara Valley History Collaborative is ready to kick-off its inaugural event and exhibition in Cupertino and will host its inaugural event entitled, “Vignettes of the
Valley of Heart’s Delight” on June Eleventh at Community Hall; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara Valley History Collaborative will host its inaugural exhibition from June Eleventh to December Thirty-First at the Cupertino Library.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize the
Cupertino Historical Society
for being a founding partner of the Santa Clara Valley History Collaborative and for their outstanding service, dedication, and for creating a stronger and better community for the City
of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, June Seventh, Two Thousand and Eleven.
